Mon, 18 June 2007 My main focus for this show is music, discussion of cool technology, websites, software, and gadgets. I want to venture into sound-seeing tour's, audio experiments, skits, and interesting and humorous things like that. Since I have only produced one show, I'm trying to think about hooks to key in on. A couple of ideas that I've had is spy stories, surf music, spy tunes, bass riffs, and riffing on the theme of "high plains drifter". Some explanation...I live at 7000 feet above sea level on the prairie, at the base of Pikes Peak and the Rocky Mountains. I have spoken to a lot of people from other countries that think I live in cowboy land, you know, horses, cows, antelope, general store, gunshots, train going through town, sound of boots on the boardwalk, the sound of the wind whipping through the high lonesome pines, - that kind of thing. So I kind of thought it might be fun to propagate that thought in others, as a tongue in cheek thing. The first bit of feedback that I've had came from my wife. When asked what she thought of the show, she thought that talking about computers and gadgets was *very boring*, and she kept waiting for me to pick up her interest by talking about *spies*. So I thought I might include the topic of spies and spy stories, as a kind of theme. So, do you as a listener, have any ideas or feedback that would be fun to do along these lines? Let me know by sending an e-mail, catch me on Skype, or phone a message into my comments line (206) 973-7433. I would love to hear from you all! Spy Riffs Radio #001 Show Notes
SpyRiffsRadio-001-2007-06-04.mp3 In this episode, I talk about the Griffin PowerMate USB volume knob. I think it should be used by everyone who uses a computer and a mouse. It's not just for volume control. I use it for scrolling page up and page down through webpages and source code, and it's a whole 'nother world when working with Audacity! I give you my lame excuses of why this show is so late in being released and I talk about my backup strategies. Products that I use for backup are mentioned: Karen's replicator and Zip Backup. I discuss brain waves binaural beats and how to hack your brain with an iPod. Many thanks to This Spy Surfs and Dusty Hughes for music played on this episode. Dusty's new band is Polaradio Links to Topics Mentioned:
