Spy Riffs Radio #004 Show Notes In this episode, I talk with Julie and Patrick Jeter of Tres Gatos, a rock'in surf band. I found their video Spy Medley on YouTube. Please show your podcast listener support for this great band from Atascadero. California, by purchasing their CD, "Out of the Bag". "Dear Lauren" is a track played from their CD. PD Love sent in his Love House Radio promo. I talk about my favorite new TV show, Burn Notice, an action-comedy about a spy who has been given his walking papers. We have a look at the Sandsa Express MP3 Player, and talk about MSC mode. In MSC mode, you can put your player into a mode where it behaves like a USB mass storage device, and works with Roberts Podcatcher. We review the Foobar 2000 Music Player software, it's a great alternative to Windows Media Player. I reviewed the Kensington Transmitter, used for playing your MP3 player on your car stereo. Dan Johnson with Journey Inside My Mind podcast sent in his promo. I give shout-outs for three recommended podcasts: NPR's This American Life, NPR's Radio Lab and Humphrey and Carmadella's Old-Time Radio Detective show. Find Spy Riffs Radio and Old-Time Radio Detective show on Blubrry.com. For the first 3 listeners who take a minute to write a review of Spy Riffs Radio and post it in iTunes (and then sends me an e-mail, at spyriffsradio@gmail.com), or for those users of Roberts Podcatcher that writes a review at Podcast Alley Podcatcher Review Page, I will mail them the new CD from Dusty Hughes band, Polaradio. Many thanks to Dusty Hughes for writing and performing the intro and outro music played on this episode. E-Mail: spyriffsradio@gmail.com Comments[1] |
Mon, 16 July 2007 ![]() Spy Riffs Radio #003 Show Notes In this episode, I interview Dusty Hughes of the band Polaradio. We talked about Dusty singing a duet with Dolores O'Riordan of the Cranberries, a story many people have been longing to hear. Dusty scored and performed music for a independent film soundtrack, where they had asked Dolores to contribute. We also talk about his new CD (which has been getting great reviews), and some of his interesting approaches to recording vocal tracks and his unique silent stage concert approach. Roberts Podcatcher received its first review at Podcast Alley. I have purchased three Polaradio CDs at Dusty's last concert which I will give to the first three people who write a review of Roberts Podcatcher and post it on Podcast Alley. If you do not want to try the program you can write a Spy Riffs Radio show review and post it on iTunes. When you do, please send me an e-mail, and if you are one of the first three, I will send you out a CD. Thanks for listening, and thanks for your support of the show. Many thanks to Dusty Hughes for music played on this episode. Links to Topics Mentioned:

Sun, 1 July 2007 In this episode, I talk about the Jake Loggins band - we saw them in
concert and man are they great! Art Noble, the drummer for the band was
gracious enough to give a celebrity endorsement, for which I am very
appreciative. Art has been touring and recording for the past 25 years.
He has performed with many artist such rock bands Whiteheart, Circle Of
One, to pop artist Michael English, Pat Boone, Jessie Dixon (from Paul
Simons band) to country artist Brenda Lee, Lee Greenwood (to name a
few).
We listen to my favorite songs from Steadman, Amanda Schoolfield, and the Breakaways. and a special guest interview from a listener who has some spy stories to tell, and it seems he's been watching a little bit of SpongeBob as well. I discuss software and websites that I think that you'll find of interest. Please stay subscribed and tell your friends!
