<title>Spy Riffs Radio Show #004</title>

<description><![CDATA[
<p><font><b>Spy Riffs Radio #004 Show Notes</b>
</font></p>

<p><font>In this episode, I talk with Julie and Patrick Jeter of <a href="http://www.tresgatosrock.com/home.cfm" target="_blank">Tres Gatos</a>, a
rock'in surf band. I found their video <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtTr7q9NDCc" target="_blank">Spy Medley</a>
on YouTube. Please show your podcast listener support for this great band from
Atascadero. California, by <a href="http://www.tresgatosrock.com/buystuff.cfm" target="_blank">purchasing their CD</a>, &quot;Out of the Bag&quot;. &quot;Dear Lauren&quot; is a
track played from their CD. PD Love sent in his <a href="http://lovehouseradio.com/" target="_blank">Love House Radio</a> promo. I
talk about my favorite new TV show, <a href="http://www.usanetwork.com/series/burnnotice/" target="_blank">Burn
Notice</a>, an action-comedy about a spy who has been given his walking papers.
We have a look at the <a href="http://www.sandisk.com/Products/Catalog(1226)-SanDisk_Sansa_Express_MP3_Players.aspx" target="_blank">Sandsa Express MP3 Player</a>, and talk about <a href="http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12426" target="_blank">MSC mode</a>. In MSC mode, you can put your player into a mode
where it behaves like a USB mass storage device, and works with <a href="http://robertspodcatcher.com/" target="_blank">Roberts Podcatcher</a>. We
review the <a href="http://www.foobar2000.org/" target="_blank">Foobar 2000 Music
Player software</a>, it's a great alternative to Windows Media Player. I
reviewed the <a href="http://us.kensington.com/html/11677.html" target="_blank">Kensington Transmitter</a>, used for playing your MP3 player on
your car stereo. Dan Johnson with <a href="http://jimmpodcast.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Journey Inside My Mind</a> podcast sent in his promo. I give
shout-outs for three recommended podcasts: NPR's <a href="http://www.thislife.org/" target="_blank">This American Life</a>, NPR's <a href="http://www.wnyc.org/shows/radiolab/" target="_blank">Radio Lab</a> and
Humphrey and Carmadella's <a href="http://www.blubrry.com/programs/612/old-time-radio-detective/" target="_blank">Old-Time Radio Detective show</a>. Find Spy Riffs Radio and
Old-Time Radio Detective show on <a href="http://www.blubrry.com/" target="_blank">Blubrry.com</a>. For the first 3 listeners who take a minute to
write a review of Spy Riffs Radio and post it in iTunes (and then sends me an
e-mail, at spyriffsradio@gmail.com), or for those users of Roberts Podcatcher
that writes a review at <a href="<a href=" target="_blank" showthread.php?p="616241&quot;">Podcast Alley
Podcatcher Review Page</a>, I will mail them the new CD from Dusty Hughes band,
Polaradio.
</font></p>

<p><font>Many thanks to <a href="http://dustyhughes.com/" target="_blank">Dusty
Hughes</a> for writing and performing the intro and outro music played on this
episode.

<description><![CDATA[In this episode, I talk about the Jake Loggins band - we saw them in
concert and man are they great! Art Noble, the drummer for the band was
gracious enough to give a celebrity endorsement, for which I am very
appreciative. Art has been touring and recording for the past 25 years.
He has performed with many artist such rock bands Whiteheart, Circle Of
One, to pop artist Michael English, Pat Boone, Jessie Dixon (from Paul
Simons band) to country artist Brenda Lee, Lee Greenwood (to name a
few).
<p>
We listen to my favorite songs from Steadman, Amanda Schoolfield, and the Breakaways.
</p>
<p> and a special guest interview from a listener who has some spy
stories to tell, and it seems he's been watching a little bit of
SpongeBob as well.
</p>
<p>
I discuss software and websites that I think that you'll find of interest. Please stay subscribed and tell your friends!

<title>Spies, High Plains Drifter, Twangy Guitars</title>
<link>http://spyriffsradio.libsyn.com/index.php?post_id=226512#</link>
<description><![CDATA[My main focus for this show is music, discussion of cool technology, websites, software, and gadgets.&nbsp;&nbsp; I want to venture into sound-seeing tour's, audio experiments, skits, and interesting and humorous things like that.&nbsp; Since I have only produced one show, I'm trying to think about hooks to key in on.&nbsp; A couple of ideas that I've had is spy stories, surf music, spy tunes, bass riffs, and riffing on the theme of &quot;high plains drifter&quot;. Some explanation...<br/><br/>I live at 7000 feet above sea level on the prairie, at the base of Pikes Peak and the Rocky Mountains.&nbsp; I have spoken to a lot of people from other countries that think I live in cowboy land, you know, horses, cows, antelope, general store, gunshots, train going through town, sound of boots on the boardwalk, the sound of the wind whipping through the high lonesome pines, - that kind of thing.&nbsp; So I kind of thought it might be fun to propagate that thought in others, as a tongue in cheek thing.<br/><br/>The first bit of feedback that I've had came from my wife.&nbsp; When asked what she thought of the show, she thought that talking about computers and gadgets was <span style="font-weight: bold;">*very boring*</span>, and she kept waiting for me to pick up her interest by talking about <span style="font-weight: bold;">*spies*</span>.&nbsp; So I thought I might include the topic of spies and spy stories, as a kind of theme.<br/><br/>So, do you as a listener, have any ideas or feedback that would be fun to do along these lines?&nbsp; Let me know by sending an e-mail, catch me on Skype, or phone a message into my comments line <span style="font-weight: bold;">(206) 973-7433</span>.&nbsp;&nbsp; I would love to hear from you all!]]></description>

Spy Riffs Radio #001 Show Notes
<p>

</p>
<p> In this episode, I talk about the Griffin PowerMate USB volume
knob. I think it should be used by everyone who uses a computer and a
mouse. It's not just for volume control. I use it for scrolling page up
and page down through webpages and source code, and it's a whole
'nother world when working with Audacity!
</p>
<p> I give you my lame excuses of why this show is so late in
being released and I talk about my backup strategies. Products that I
use for backup are mentioned: Karen's replicator and Zip Backup.
</p>
<p>
I discuss brain waves binaural beats and how to hack your brain with an iPod.
